Saturday Morning at 3 Rivers Fly and Tackle
Had a good morning tyin' flies and tellin' lies at 3 Rivers Fly and Tackle this morning. Myself, George Riddle and Deroy Brandt decided that there is no reason to buy another rod under 10 ft and in my opinion over 11'6''. When it comes to fly fishing Alaska switch rods are the go to rig by far.

Product Reviews and How To's
Starting next week I will be posting weekly with certain product reviews and how to's.
The product reviews will be on products that I acually own and use and will be specific to the outdoors and fly fishing such as, Patagonia, Simms, Mountin Khakis, and Skeleton Optics.
The How To's will be fly fishing specific and in most cases Alaska fly fishing specific. I find that many of my clients have to adjust their way of fishing when then come up to Alaska, whether it's their casting style or the flies they use. My goal is to provide this information to the angler before they make the trek to Alaska so they dont spend too much time adjusting their technique and more time fishing effectivly.
Just about all posts will be by video. So enjoy and I welcome any helpful feedback and or additional knowledge. The learning never stops.
Thanks,
Jake Williams

Low Water
The creeks in the area are about as low as I have ever seen them this time of year. This along with not many kings up the river makes it for tough fishing. We have seen some rainbows start to stage up behind the kings ready for the egg drop so beads should start to get good within the next couple of weeks. We need some rain though!

Get Ready!
With the longer days upon us, schedules may change but our motives remain true. The Saturday Tie-In at 3 Rivers Fly and Tackle (Thank you.) has come to the end of another season. Tragic, as this may seem, to those of us that enjoy this pleasure.
As with all good things that end, another begins and our beginning is thawing as we speak. Now when we tie it will be more informal. Hurried late night sessions, impromptu streamside panic and creative campfire epiphanies will control our tying mannerisms.

The Itch
Hardcore or Stir Crazy?
We thought it would be a good day to fish. There are only so many times you can watch other fanatics' cinematic fishing exploits and peruse blog posts. Colton figured out that double hauling some flesh into hole in the ice from sixty feet away isn't the best way to catch trout. The days are getting longer and the itch is getting itchier. We can almost hear running water.
